Join us in Boothbay Harbor this winter for unforgetable festivities!

Experience the brilliance of New England’s biggest and brightest light display at Gardens Aglow starting Nov 14th. With over 650,000 lights, witness the transformation of Maine’s spectacular Botanical Gardens into an extravaganza of festive lights in a dramatic display of brilliant color. This year, they will be taking the dramatic display to new heights, incorporating—for the first time—a magnificent sculpture exhibit, Unearthed, by artist Steve Tobin.

The annual Early Bird sale in Boothbay Harbor on Nov 23rd has become a tradition for locals and people from away, who know a good sale when they see it and are in need of one more breath of ocean air before the snow starts flying. Incredible deals start around 6am and run through 5pm! PJ’s and bathrobes are the dress code! Shop till you drop!

Join the region as they celebrate the season in grand, old-fashioned holiday style with the 34th Annual Harbor Lights Festival on Dec 7th. The Festival offers a variety of activities for young and old and will surely put you in the holiday spirit! Meet Mr. and Mrs. Clause who arrive via boat, take a horse-drawn wagon ride around the harbor, sing Christmas Carols, watch the lighted boat parade, and gather up lots of cheerful holiday merriment.

Boothbay Lights is a celebration of signature Holiday events in Maine midcoast’s quintessential seaside towns of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor! The towns sparkle with thousands of lights and the shops, restaurants and hotels are all open and ready to help you make wonderful Holiday memories! Events include Festival of Trees, Gingerbread spectacular & Holiday Sparkle Fireworks!

On Saturdays and Sundays, November 30 through December 22 the Boothbay Railway Village will be running the “North Pole Express!” Departures will run 8 times each day beginning at 10:00. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended to avoid disappointment or long waits. Sales are open now! The train will carry you through the Village and arrive at the North Pole (Thorndike Station) where a special guest wearing a red suit with a jolly belly will jump aboard to greet you! Yes, Santa himself will attend! Children will also be invited to make a vintage-inspired holiday ornament to take home.
