Sculpture Trail

Boothbay Harbor Sculpture WalkThe Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce and Maine Stone Workers Guild are partnering to bring public art to our region with SCULPTURE BOOTHBAY.

The Boothbay Harbor Region Sculpture Trail, established in 2017 by the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce, exhibits completed sculptures outside local businesses and institutions in downtown Boothbay Harbor. In 2019, the trail will begin to extend throughout the peninsula with new sites being added as work becomes available. Each piece of sculpture will be for sale with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the artist. Visit our beautiful harbor and charming community at any time of the year and take a walk or a drive using this map to explore the growing sculpture trail.

Nine of Maine’s most notable living stone sculptors, along with international guests from Japan and Canada, will transform blocks of Maine granite for all to see July 27– August 4 on the Boothbay Common during the biennial Maine Stone Symposium. Public hours are 10–4 daily. Artists enthusiastically invite the public to interact with them and watch the sculptures develop over the ten days. It’s sometimes noisy and dusty, but always fun to watch! Admission to the Symposium is free and open to all ages.

The artists will work with a wide variety of hand and power tools to create works of art that will be auctioned at the Boothbay Region Land Trust’s Points of View Art Auction on Thursday, August 8, 2019, or later join the Boothbay Harbor Region Sculpture Trail.
