Charlie Begin Memorial Lobster Boat Races

Mark your calendar for the 2026 Maine Lobster Boat Races!  Be part of one of Maine’s most unique and entertaining spectator events on the coast!  Lobster boats go bow-to-bow for points, cash, and prizes in these exciting and highly competitive yearly races.  The 2026 Maine Lobster Boat Races will be an event you, your friends, and your family won’t forget!

Boat Race Information
Points race, Lobster Boat Races start at 10 am, sign up begins at 8 am.  Boothbay Harbor is one of the best anchorages on the coast of Maine.  The harbor is spacious and sheltered, with good holding ground.  The town has two public docks with dingy/dory/skiff floats and three launching ramps.  Access through Brown’s Wharf or the co-op.  Awards are held on the barge at the finish line.

Spectator Information
Races are best viewed by boat. There are several boat tour companies in the area that may offer lobster boat race spectator cruises. The races can also be viewed from the Department of Marine Resources, McKown Point Road, W. Boothbay Harbor on land.
