Tea, Treats & Tales, the History of the Monday Club @ The Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club

The Boothbay Harbor Region Historical Society invites you to join them for Tea, Treats and Tales, a light luncheon followed by “The History of the Boothbay Harbor Monday Club” presented by society member Julia O’Brien-Merrill.

One afternoon in October of 1895, five local ladies discussed forming a literary club for its members’ improvement, social entertainment and eventually political activism.  They settled on wash day as a good time to get out in the afternoon.  The Monday Club was born, eventually expanding to support other organizations in Lincoln County.
