Can you believe it’s time to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of THE GODFATHER, starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton and James Caan. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola from a novel by Mario Puzo, The Godfather is considered one of the greatest films of all time, and certainly the pinnacle of mob crime drama. Nominated for 11 Oscars, it won for Best Picture, Best Actor (Marlon Brando) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo).
Spanning the years 1945 to 1955, it is a chronicle of the fictional Italian-American Corleone crime family. When the family patriarch, Vito Corleone, barely survives an attempt on his life, his youngest son, Michael steps in to take care of the would-be killers, launching a campaign of bloody revenge. Although Michael tries to maintain a normal relationship with his wife, Kay (Diane Keaton), he is drawn deeper into the family business.
