Skilled Craftsperson – Wiscasset, Maine
Knickerbocker Group is excited to announce the launch of a new line of prefabricated, sustainable living spaces—volumetric construction of small homes and accessory dwelling units (ADUs), delivered 95% complete to a client’s land. We are seeking 4-5 year-round skilled laborers to work under the direction of the Production Supervisor in a new fabrication facility in Wiscasset. These individuals will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing and assembling the building components for these living spaces (ADUs).
Primary responsibilities include:
operating various hand tools, power tools, and equipment used to complete carpentry duties including:
Circular Saw
Table Saw
Router
Pneumatic Nail Gun (roofing, framing, and finish work)
Drills
Other tools needed for measuring, cutting, fastening, and drilling
framing, laying out, and building floors.
Preparing, laying out, and building walls.
laying out, running, and installing electrical lines.
laying out, running, and installing plumbing supply, waste, and vent lines and installing plumbing fixtures according to code.
installing and preparing drywall for finish tape, mud and texture.
installing insulation.
completing roof construction, decking, flashing, and shingling.
building and installing trim work, cabinetry and or finish cabinetry.
installing siding, windows, and doors.
painting interior and exterior of homes.
keeping work area neat and clean.
assisting with material and inventory management as needed.
The ideal candidate has:
a high school diploma or the equivalent.
basic understanding of the construction process is competent with basic power tools.
experience with a wide variety of construction materials.
basic understanding of plumbing and electrical required; plumbing experience preferred
excellent attention to detail.
strong communication and teamwork skills.
the ability to trouble shoot problem solve and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
the ability to interpret construction drawings/ sketches/ shop drawings/ specifications/ product data preferred.
