Windjammer Days – June 24 through June 30, 2018
Windjammer Days marks the kick off to summer in the Boothbay region. It is a time to honor our maritime history and celebrate the vital role it plays in the lives of all who live here. Started in 1962, Windjammer Days has grown to a week long festival and is the cornerstone of summer traditions in the Boothbay Harbor region. The festival has something for everyone. From a golf tournament to a road race, a tug of war across the harbor to pirate duels and fireworks. There’s food events and music, tours of the U.S. Coast Guard Station, haunted history tours, a lobster eating contest, codfish relay and so much more. Like parades? Spend the week and you can catch an antique boat parade, blessing of the fleet, a street parade, the grand gathering of the windjammer fleet, and a lighted boat parade. Best of all, many of the events are free! Something that is not an easy find these days. It is the collective passion for the sea and for keeping traditions alive for future generations that drives this event, and keeps our community of volunteers inspired to bring Windjammer Days to you year and after year. We hope you enjoy! Visit Boothbay Harbor Windjammer Days for a complete schedule and to view our lodging partners who invite you stay.
