Barters Island Bees, Inc

Barters Island Bees sells local honey and Maine-made gifts and food in the Boothbay area.  You can find us at our beautiful new retail shop just before the roundabout as you come into Boothbay.  We sell our products at nine farmers’ markets, including the Boothbay market on Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon each week from May to October. You can also buy our premium honey in over 20 retail stores across Maine.  

Our eco-friendly honey bee farm is on Barters Island in Boothbay.  We produce 3 kinds of honey:  all-natural raw honey, a smoky sweet hot honey called Bee Stinger and a line of creamed honey called Maine Mousse.  Maine Mousse is 100% pure honey, but has been stirred into a thick silky concoction with the consistency of peanut butter.  Try all the organic Maine Mousse varieties:  Honey Butter, Ceylon Cinnamon, Gentle Ginger, Blueberry Lemon, Orange Cranberry and our seasonal Pumpkin Spice.  Visit our Tasting Tables at the farmers markets or in our store.

All the products in our store are crafted by local Maine vendors.  We carry pure beeswax candles, bee pollen-infused health and beauty products and so many other unique and exquisite items.  We specialize in Maine-made food from vendors that we met at the farmers’ markets we attend.  We carry art, floral arrangements, and an array of lovely gift items.
